Overview of the team

The Business Development Manager is part of the Strategy Department of Stage Entertainment B.V. based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and reports into the COO, Fleur Mooren-La Bastide. The Business Development Manager works closely together with all departments of the international leadership ao, the Group Director Operational Excellence, Group Venue Director and the international production team.

Overview of the role

As Business Development Manager you have a major role under the COO in the analysis and advice on business cases regarding: strengthening and broadening our business through expansion in current and new markets, such as ao venue expansion opportunities and other new activities supportive to our value chain. A project for 2016 was, for example, the purchase of the Coliseum theatre, the company’s second theatre in Madrid which was renovated and opened successfully in March 2017. This requires a lot of coordination at board level and important preparatory work such as analysis and business case development for decision-making.

The Business Development Manager follows the developments of the markets in which Stage Entertainment is active and charts opportunities, including competitive analysis. He/she conducts research into new markets, conducts feasibility studies, translates acquired data into accurate corporate presentations. The Business Development Manager delivers key input for the decision making process, based on careful analysis of possibilities.

Most important responsibilities

In summary, the responsibilities includes:

  • Draft and analyze business cases

  • Define market-entry strategy

  • Data-driven decision support for the Management Board

  • Prepare of Management Board and Supervisory Board decision papers and compose key presentations on various strategic topics

  • Project management on execution of the strategy.

Candidate profile

Ideal experience and skills

The successful candidate has extensive knowledge of drafting and analyzing business cases and opportunities. This persons knows how to find adequate data to evaluate new opportunities and can translate such data and observations into a crisp but comprehensive presentation for decision taking. She/he has strong analytical- and financial skills and is good in project management.

A young talent and a self-starter, who is eager to learn and act very well at different levels in the organization.

Specifically, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university 

  • Strong financial background, fact-based approach, analytical skills

  • Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Mother tongue / fluency in Dutch and English

  • Availability to travel across Europe is required.
