We are looking for an Frontend Developer

About the role

Stage Entertainment is strengthening its in-house IT Development team as we continue building and improving the digital products that support our websites, ticketing, commerce, and customer journeys across multiple markets.

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to help build modern, accessible, performant, and maintainable customer-facing applications. This role will play an important part in shaping how audiences discover shows, browse event information, select tickets, and move through digital purchase journeys.

The role is focused on more than visual implementation. We are looking for someone who understands how frontend connects to APIs, backend services, content platforms, ticketing systems, analytics, accessibility, and performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain modern frontend applications for Stage’s customer-facing digital platforms.
  • Develop reusable, maintainable components using React and TypeScript.
  • Work with API-driven architecture, including backend-for-frontend patterns, domain services, and external ticketing APIs.
  • Translate UX, product, and business requirements into high-quality customer-facing features.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, Backend, DevOps, QA, Commercial stakeholders, and market teams.
  • Ensure frontend performance, accessibility, SEO, and usability are treated as core delivery requirements.
  • Support customer journey areas such as checkout, calendar, seat map, content, account, and event discovery.
  • Integrate with backend services, APIs, authentication flows, analytics, and tracking requirements.
  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, coding standards, pull requests, and technical documentation.
  • Improve frontend testing using unit, integration, and end-to-end testing where appropriate.
  • Help define frontend patterns that can be reused across multiple markets and brands.
  • Support the transition from external delivery dependency toward stronger internal frontend ownership.

Required experience

  • Strong professional experience with React.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
  • Experience building API-driven frontend applications.
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser behaviour, and component architecture.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Next.js, Remix, Astro, or similar.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and/or GraphQL.
  • Experience with frontend testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Vitest, Testing Library, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of performance, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Experience working with designers, product owners, backend developers, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in GitHub Flow with pull requests, reviews, and CI/CD.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ticketing, e-commerce, checkout, seat map, or high-conversion customer journeys.
  • Experience with Drupal, headless CMS, or content-driven platforms.
  • Experience with authentication and identity flows.
  • Experience working with design systems or component libraries.
  • Experience with analytics, tracking, consent, and marketing technology.
  • Experience in multi-brand or multi-market platforms.
  • Familiarity with PHP or Symfony backend layers is a plus, but not required.

What success looks like

After 3 months:

  • You understand the frontend direction and can independently deliver features.
  • Frontend standards for components, testing, accessibility, and performance are being applied.
  • Collaboration with UX, Product, Backend, and DevOps is working smoothly.
  • Customer-facing features are delivered with quality, maintainability, and usability in mind.

After 6 months:

  • The team has a stronger internal frontend foundation.
  • Reusable components and patterns are in place.
  • Frontend delivery is less dependent on external partners.
  • Key customer journeys are more maintainable, testable, and ready for multi-market use.
  • Accessibility, performance, and SEO are embedded into everyday frontend delivery

Profile

We are looking for a frontend developer who thinks beyond the screen. The right person cares about the full customer journey, understands how frontend connects to APIs and platform services, and can balance good engineering with business urgency.

You should be able to work independently, challenge unclear requirements, collaborate across disciplines, and help the team build frontend capability for the long term.
